22. June 2001: Arrival in Islamabad
On 22.06.2001 - 6 a.m. the members arrived at Islamabad.


Jumma Bazar Islamabad

At the stop in London, they had a panic moment, because they had some trouble with their huge hand baggage Satellite telephone, laptop, Video cameras, photo cameras, some hundret fils etc.). Finally the flight staff accepted it and they could take all things to Islamabad.


Faisal Mosque

At the airport, they were welcomed by their old friend Jehangir Khan, who will accompany them as a cook to the base camp. Jehangir has done this job several times (1993 at Nanga Parbat, 1995 at Broad Peak, 1998 in the Karambar-region...) at his best, so they can be sure that all will work regardig this subject.

After having a first shower (in Islamabad there is a temperature of about 30°C at 95% air moisture) they met their Officer and take over the Aircargos from the customs . The first contact at the Ministery of Tourism, the "Briefing" (some kind of a 1st check-in for all expeditions) will be tomorrow.
