For final preparation we started a common Tour in the Zillertaler Alps. We wanted to meet each other at 5th turn of th Pfitscherjochstrasse on Saturday at 4 o'clock in the morning. We planned to ascent the northern sides of Hochferner (3463m) and Hochfeiler (3510m). Ralf, Christian and Markus - who intend to descent by ski from both Gasherbrums - also wanted to improve their ski skills.
At the 4. turn of the Kehre, an avalanche blocked the street and we had 45 min more to go. Moreover, our three members from Leipzig came too late because of high traffic.
When arriving at the Biwakschachtel, it was too late to climb a wall of 1000 meters height. So we only climbed the Hochsteller (3097m). Before arriving the summit, we were in dark clouds. Therefore, Lydia, Ralf and Olaf had to return. Christian and Markus were faster with their skis and arrive at the summit. From there, the perform a ski descent over 500 meters. Next morning, there were heavy snow and in the afternoon our members from Leipzig decided to return home.
On monday, Christian and Markus decided to train ski descents at the Ortlergruppe. At 5.25 a.m. the started to the Schaubach Lodge. One hour later the sun came out and they walked via Eissee pass to the Casati lodge and the Monte Cevedale. At 11.20 a.m. Christian and Markus were on the summit of Monte Cevedale, 3769m. From there, we descented with skis. Thereafter, they climbed on ski both Zufallspitzen (3757m, 3687m) and made additional descents.
At 3 p.m. they are lucky and fatique in their car and return home.
