With increasing temperatures during the last days, we intensified our climbing training. On 1st of May, we met each other in Saxon Switzerland. This is the place where all of us started with climbing. Later, we went to higher mountains in Middle Asia, and since the breakdown of the Berlin Wall all over the world.
Climbing in "our Switzerland" still occupies a lot of our spare time. The ascent to the bizarre towers is not only a strong effort, but also a good training for a high mountain region. Though both Gasherbrum-Peaks have only passages until level III-IV. Because
Because sandstone is very vulnerable after raining, we had to renounce our tours. The protecton of nature in the National Park "Sächsische Schweiz" goes first.
So we were happy to take our ropes in the Bielatal under blue sky. We climbed 15 routes until skill level VIIc (it ranges from I bis XII among the 16,000 saxon routes).
According to the traditional rules, climbing is only allowed using natural points. The rope serves only for securing. Securing is possible on pre-installed rings (Foto) and rope slings, that are squeezed in crevices or put on ledges.
