| Ski tour 02.-05.02.2001
As Head of a ski course of the Saxon Climbing Association, Markus have spent 4 days in the Ortler Alps. With the Monte Cevedale (3769 m), the Köllkuppe (3330 m) and the Madritschspitze (3265 m), he climbed 3 peaks with skis. The 1st ski training in preparation for the ski descent from the Gasherbrum II was successful.

Markus makes 1 week of skiing in the Swiss Alps for preparing the Ski descent at Gasherbrum II - in one stroke form the peak to the base camp (3000 meters height difference).

Markus makes a Training tour in the Italian Alps together with the Thuringian climber Günter Jung. At deep temperatures, the climbed 14 3000m-peaks in the Adamello-Presanella-Group. |

| Training tour 10./11.03.2001
Our training tour to the Ötztal Alps was planned long before, but Olaf and Lydia had to cancel at short notice. Therefore, only Ralf, Christian and Markus could use the good conditions for body condition and ski training. We made ski descents from the Taufkarkogel (3367 m) and the Kreuzspitze (3457 m). Besides, we tested our equipment and discussed some details regarding the organization of our expedition. |
